Srinagar, Oct 29 (KNO): The government has clarified that the Municipal Council Bandipora has not been excluded from the AMRUT Scheme and its Water Supply Scheme (WSS) was prepared under AMRUT 2.0 but could not be taken up due to restricted ceiling limits. According to official documents, the government, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said the Union Territory Level Screening Committee (UTLSC) has now decided to take up all such projects under the Capex Scheme in the coming financial years. The government said Bandipora is already at par with other developed municipalities in Jammu and Kashmir, with infrastructure development being carried out under various schemes, including the UT Capex Budget, NGT, and SBM-U (2.0). The department said the town has seen major improvements in urban infrastructure, including upgraded link roads, drains and footpaths to ensure better connectivity and traffic flow. Public spaces such as parks, marriage halls, and recreational centers have also been developed to enhance the quality of life for residents. Municipal services like door-to-door waste collection, street cleaning, and dustbin installations are being provided. A multi-level car parking facility is also under construction to ease congestion. Additionally, a modern slaughterhouse has been designed with proper zoning for hygienic operations, reducing environmental and health risks—(KNO)
